Hearing aid batteries are disc shaped and about as small as an aspirin.  There are two choices when it comes to batteries and they are “disposable” or “rechargeable“.  If you get disposable batteries, then you need to open the battery door nightly and close the battery door in the morning before you use it.  When you select rechargeable batteries, then you never need to open the battery door.  Devon Hearing will explain more about batteries below.

Disposable batteries that are are typically used by many customers are included below:

Size 10 battery:  This is the smallest battery size used for hearing aids and is the size of a baby aspirin.  It is only used for very small hearing aids when customers want a very small, discreet hearing aid.  Due to its size, it may only last 3-4 days before needing to be replaced.

Size 312 battery:  This is the most common battery size used for hearing aids and is twice in diameter as a size 10 battery.  It is only used for most hearing aids which are both powerful and discreet.  Due to its size, it may only last 6-8 days before needing to be replaced.  It is suggested to be replaced weekly.

Size 13 battery:  This is the second largest battery size used for hearing aids and is tall like the size 675 battery but not as wide in diameter.  It is only used for extended battery life if custom hearing aids and receiver-in-the-canal hearing aids.  Due to its size, it may only last 9-10 days before needing to be replaced.

Size 675 battery:  This is the largest battery size used for hearing aids and is about 3 times as large as a size 10 battery.  It is only used for very powerful, hearing aids when customers have a very severe to profound hearing loss.  Due to its size, it may only last 9-10 days before needing to be replaced.
